Sound Of Faz Productions was created by John Farrell in 2005 after his first successful white label release on his own ‘Faz Productions’ label. Only 200 units were pressed and they flew off the shelves of the biggest vinyl stores at the time – Hard to Find Records and Juno Records. A year later, the first Sound Of Faz release arrived on DMC records – a mashup of Uniting Nations – Out of Touch with the vocal from Destiny’s Child’s – Lose Your Breath’ released on the DMC Commercial Collection 280.

Since then, there have been numerous mash-up releases on the DMC label and their following has grown rapidly on social media. With over 279,000 combined views on their youtube channel and over 500 followers the future looks promising.

John Farrell’s DJ experience began at the age of 20 when he entered a DJ competition at a local bar/club in Lancaster, Lancashire called the Blue anchor. This led onto sets at many bars and clubs around the Lancaster area including The Varsity, Revolution and Toast. It was at this time where he gained a residency at Club DV8 in Preston. (formerly The Mill)

In 2009, Toast ran a DJ competition that John entered and subsequently won which opened up a whole new contact list to him. He became heavily involved with the online producer community frequenting many large forums such as Get Your Bootleg On and Acapellas4u where he met many highly talented ‘unknown’ producers and he played on a weekly online radio show for a producers forum called Loop Creators.

John has always produced remixes and mash-ups both for DMC and by request of fellow DJ’s however the DJ side was put on hold whilst he started his own web development business ‘magnetikmedia’.

Here in 2017 however, he is raring to go and jump back into the industry he loves.
